My name is Donna and I have been with Aroha Fitness for about 6 weeks now.Kate is amazing and so motivational and inspirational.Honestly, I have been in Peri-menopause for about 3 years. Too embarrassed to go to the gym because of the weight I gained and lack of sleep. I am 53 and have tried everything and couldn't lose any weight. I have bad knees no cartilage and osteoarthritis and gout in my ankles it was very hard to walk or even breathe. Embarrassed and had enough I was looking at Facebook and came across a page called Aroha Fitness Menopause specialist thought I would give it a go!!Best decision I have made weight is coming off people and friends have noticed I'm losing weight.I really enjoy the two days a week I have with Kate at Aroha Fitness. If like me you are returning to fitness after a long period of absence (10 years!) then you may well need a bit of professional support to help you persevere and reach your goals. Mine were simple, core strength, balance and cardio vascular improvement. At 70 years of age my fitness level was definitely not meeting the various demands of my busy life which was frustrating. I was lucky to meet Kate at my introductory gym session and was immediately impressed by her quiet helpful approach. 3 months of weekly sessions later and together we have achieved so much. Kate has been professional, knowledgeable, motivational, understanding, and at times extremely demanding………… but it has all been such fun. I am feeling so much better about my overall ability and I am looking forward to getting back into it after a few weeks of well earned “rest” in Europe armed with exercise “homework” to do.
